In the Flüchtlingsrat Berlin, organizations, counseling centers, refugee self-help groups, initiatives and committed individuals have been working together since 1981. We are committed to improving the living conditions of refugees and preserving their human dignity.
Defending the right to asylum and refugee protection as well as reducing state discrimination are our main goals.
We are active in the state of Berlin and cooperate closely with the refugee councils of the other federal states and with PRO ASYL.
The Refugee Council works with the Berlin Senate, authorities, associations, parties and politicians to defend the rights of refugees. Public appeals, actions and events on current refugee policy developments also serve this goal. He represents the Berlin refugee work to the outside world and is the contact person for the public and the media. Its members participate in many important public committees and organizations. By regularly sending out a newsletter, a large circle of interested parties in and outside of Berlin is kept informed. Participation in the meetings of the Refugee Council is open to all interested parties. Initiatives and thematic working groups can be arranged from the plenum.
